Swell

A collection of 14 tracks including the silky soundscape of Silver Lining Lemonade, that powerful punchline of Backbone and the weightless, feathery falsetto in Stumblin’

Yet

Sneaking this next single out before the release of his debut album - Yet strides through self doubt with a cool head and a solid groove.

Right Where I Needed You

A bouncy blues riff-rock, a quick downward spiral and healthy half-time chorus at the end; Right Where I Needed You set the scene for Lucas’ new sound

Lost

Like many songs written during 2020, Lost is a reminder of stranger times. Recorded at Wundenberg Studios during the same session as End of The Day, the acoustic riffs and vulnerable lyrics confess the wanderings of a lonely mind.

End of the Day

Entertaining on the high seas until the pandemic struck then forced to return to his beloved hometown of Adelaide, Lucas processed his thoughts with a guitar and a notebook. What emerged was a two-track release exploring all the emotions tucked behind those infamous surgical masks

Now Later

Released October 5th 2019, Now Later gives a knowing nod to the optimistic procrastinators of the world. The acoustic guitar solo paired with the raw Australian flavoured lyrics, this song tells a story you won’t get sick of.

Knots

South Aussie Lucas Day released his debut four track EP in 2019 - complete with tasty riffs and tight hooks. This One Man Band does it all - playing rhythm guitar, lead guitar and a whole drum kit with his feet - all at the same time! The title track Knots is a soulful realization that sometimes getting caught up in someone else is exactly what you need.

About.

Lucas Day is Australia’s musical all rounder with the ability to support himself with his guitar, footdrums and incomparable voice. After recently releasing his debut album; ‘Swell’, Lucas expanded to a four piece band to help him bring new sonic ideas to life. The result is a blend of high energy blues and rock continuing to be the backbone of the sound he creates. Beyond this, Lucas draws inspiration from artists such as Paul Kelly, Pinegrove, John Mayer, Hozier and The Foo Fighters.

From a young age, Lucas’ infectious energy led to him working as a cruise ship musician and after five years at sea, Lucas’ unstoppable musical momentum found him embarking on a career as a solo artist, officially launching himself into the world via 2019’s insatiable knots ep. A raw, and soulful showcase of his sound as a multi-instrumentalist.

Almost immediately, Lucas found his corner, with his work attracting thousands of listeners, and his live shows becoming must-see events throughout his home state, cementing himself as an essential performer thanks to his infectiously mesmerising sets.

Even as covid halted live shows and pulled the rug out from under the global music scene in 2020, Lucas thrived, going on to share some of the best music of his career. Singles such as ‘Lost’, ‘Between Us’, and ‘End of The Day’ emerged against the backdrop of a global pandemic, winning over legions of fans.

His virtuosic musicality and magnetic performance style has resulted in a monumental – and dedicated – fanbase over the years, with more than 80 thousand followers on instagram alone. Add in the 2020 Scala Festival of Original Music award for his single ‘End of The Day’, and it’s clear that Lucas is already changing the world through his music.

Now, three years on from the release of his last EP, Lucas is riding the high of the release of his long-awaited debut album - Swell. Lucas’ forthcoming record sees him showing why he has become not only a foot drumming phenomenon, but also a highly renowned musician and songwriter. In addition to the sounds of Lucas’s widely recognised vocals and guitar playing, Swell features a live band with drums, organs, backing vocals and bass. Since expanding his sound and freeing up his frontman feet, Lucas has been working on his dance moves so that he can keep up with his audiences, who can’t help but dance during his performances.

From humble beginnings as a young South Australian artist, to front manning a band and sharing his talents with music-lovers all over the world, Lucas Day has taken the path that most musicians could only ever dream of.

Equipped with sensational skills as a future guitar hero, an unmatched proficiency as a footdrum player, a new found ability as a band leader, and a compositional and lyrical style that is truly beyond reproach, Lucas Day is no longer just a well-kept secret of his hometown’s music scene, now, the world is watching, and he’s ready to shine.
